Things and ideas
Social Media for your Favorite Color.
Social media comes in all kinds of flavors. I personally use LinkedIn for professional networking, Facebook for keeping up with friends and family, Twitter to share what’s on my mind in 140 characters or less, and Flickr for getting feedback on my photography from like-minded shooters all over the world. Oh, and I use the HMH blog for occasions like this.
But what about my favorite color? Shouldn’t it have a place to live and breathe online too? Well PMS 1205, fret not, for there is just such a place. And it’s called Kuler. The good folks over at Adobe created an online environment that let’s designers put color combinations together and share them with like-minded, color-hungry people all over the world.
Once logged on, you can create a palette of up to five colors, name it, save it, share it and get feedback on it.
So you might be thinking, “hey, that’s weird.” But it really isn’t. You see, there are millions of colors available to use. If you have five different options for each, that’s a lot of color options. And not all combinations work. Most don’t. But the ones that do? Well, they are worth their weight in gold – #ebcd00 to be exact.
But Kuler doesn’t just stop there. You can download the saved color options into your favorite Adobe Creative Suite program and share it with a team of designers working on projects with you.
So colors of the world, let your hues be seen. Check out some of my colors combinations here.

Fear not Shawn, I did not
Fear not Shawn, I did not think your recommendation for Kuler was weird. In fact, I share your enthusiasm. I discovered this little beauty during a photoshop class a few months ago. Long live Kuler.
