And The Winner Is…
The entertainment industry recently celebrated movie-making glory and achievement at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. The King’s Speech took center stage, taking home a number of Oscar awards, including “best picture.”
HMH recently got recognized by its advertising and marketing peers for industry glory and achievement, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. On February 23, the Charlotte chapter of the American Advertising Federation hosted the Addy Awards, celebrating the best of design and advertising.
The quality of work entered was incredible. But only twenty-nine agencies in the Charlotte area took home awards that night. HMH was honored with a silver Addy award for Thomas Built Buses’ new website. The site features a significant improvement in usability and features fresh content for Thomas Built’s broad product line of buses.
Another silver Addy was awarded to HMH for work created for the Community School of the Arts. The school’s mission is to provide outstanding and accessible arts education to the children of our community. A mission we whole-heartily embrace.
It was an exciting evening, full of creative people celebrating their craft with drinks in hand, yelling loudly for all the winners well into the night. I guess the Addys did not capture national attention like the Oscars did. But then, nobody’s hair caught on fire at the Oscars. So I guess we really did one-up the Academy Awards. Burnt hair smell and all.
